Dave should not be famous for this BBQ. It is mediocre at best. The meats are too salty and the sauce is just so-so. This location is busy because of it's proximity to the Hampton - people from out of town who don't know any better. And the place smells like stale cigarette smoke. I'll pass thank you very much.

The first time I went to this place was in Minneapolis to see a band. When it came to KC, I tried it out for dinner. I never really crave BBQ, but my mom is a fan. I had the cajun chicken sandwich, which is a really generous and juicy piece of chicken. It comes with fries, but I sub the green beans, which are spicy - yum! They do a weird thing where they bring you fries as a sort of appetizer so you can try the sauces. Look, I will never crave Famous Dave's but I am not going to bitch if someone else wants to go. There is always the cajun chicken.......

We sometimes eat here because it's convenient, even though there are tons of better choices for BBQ in KC. We called ahead to see if they could handle a group of 20. They said yes as long as we could head down in the 10 minutes. We did, and upon our arrival they told us they never said they could handle a group our size. The manager was unwilling to even work with us. They watched a huge bill walk out the door, never to return. Since I wasn't a big fan of the food to start with, this is enough to make it so I will NEVER come back to this restaurant.

This is a chain Barbeque place in a city of good barbeque. I have eaten here several times because it is convenient. I took a person from Costa Rica where they do not really have this type of food and we had fun. They have a big platter that is great for sampling for this type of an occasion. It is good food and I like it a lot better then many other barbeque places in KC although it is far from my favorite. It is reasonably priced, the service was good, and I enjoyed eating there. I would recommend it if you want to take a large group and share the family style platter.

Everything went well... food tasted good, staff was friendly, place was clean, minus 1 star for putting us right next to another large party when they had a ton of empty room!!!!

The food was outstanding and the service was too. It only took a few minutes to be seated, but it was very busy so I was pleased. The food was really delicious. Everyone on our party was satisfied with the taste and value. Thumbs up!

Wonderful BBQ! My favorite is the Georgia chopped pork with Devil's spit sauce. The meat is always tender and hot! Their dunkin apples are wonderful as a side or dessert. Try all the different sauces, you won't be dissapointed!

I really like the brisket. (thumb up) When I like something I want more. Well, the two meat plate you can not double up. (thumb down) Sides were mostly good. (thumb up) So in the end it's a place I would eat again if in the area.

Seriously folks, this is a chain restaurant that is head-quartered out of state. There are far too many real BBQ joints in KC to waste your time and money here. I will admit that the food is OK, but why would you go there?
